Project Title: Strengthening Pluralist and Demand Driven Agriculture Extension through the Development and Promotion of District Agriculture Sector Service Charter.

Project Goal: To strengthen the agricultural extension demanding capacity of the smallholders in the selected district through the development of service charters in the agriculture sector.

Outcome: Existence of space and framework for farmers to demand agriculture extension service as a public good.

Results Areas:

  • Increased capacity for sector players directly involved in this project (District controlling Officers, Agricultural Extension Frontline staff, NGOs, Farmers) to understand the concept of demand driven extension provision.
  • Increased ability of the smallholder farmers to demand for information from agriculture extension staff through a memorandum of understanding done under service charters in the agriculture sector.
  • Enhanced interface among agriculture sector players at the national, district, area and village level through strengthened stakeholder panels.
